Julie Tagen
Julie Tagen is a Strategic Advisor for Imperium Global Advisors. Julie is a respected government and political leader who has dedicated her career to public service, working on Capitol Hill, on political campaigns, and in the nonprofit sector for more than two decades.
Her expertise includes senior public sector and political management, policy development, legislative strategy, government relations, strategic communications, crisis management, and political power-building.
Until her retirement from Capitol Hill in October 2025, Julie served as the Democratic Staff Director of the House Judiciary Committee, following her tenure in the same role for the House Oversight and Accountability Committee during the 118th Congress. Before that, she spent six years as Chief of Staff to Congressman Jamie Raskin, who represents Maryland’s 8th District. In that role, she supported Raskin’s service on six congressional committees and in Democratic Leadership, acting as his primary liaison to both House Leadership and the White House.
Julie began her career on Capitol Hill as a professional staff member for the Subcommittee on Human Resources and later served as Chief of Staff to former Congressman Alan Grayson. Beyond the Hill, she worked on a number of political campaigns and for several nonprofits, including the 2004 presidential campaigns of Governor Howard Dean and Senator John Kerry. In 2005, she became Deputy National Finance Director of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and later served as Government Affairs Director for the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE).
