Pete Mauro
Pete Mauro is a seasoned entrepreneur and defense industry leader with more than three decades of experience across startups, system integration, procurement, and program management within the Department of Defense ecosystem. He is the founder and CEO of DTCubed, a consulting firm specializing in cybersecurity, predictive analytics, and digitally transformative technologies serving the defense and critical infrastructure sectors.
Pete’s work at the intersection of technology and national security combines his experience bringing innovation to federal markets with Imperium’s broader policy, advocacy, and strategic engagement capabilities. Together, this provides clients with a holistic approach to federal engagement—helping companies move beyond traditional contracting to become trusted mission partners.
Before founding DTCubed, Pete served as Chief Innovation Officer and Chief Cyber Technology Officer at Gryphon Technologies, where he led the company’s technical strategy and positioned it for acquisition by private equity firm AE Industrial Partners. Under his leadership, Gryphon’s value grew substantially, culminating in its $350 million acquisition by ManTech International in December 2021.
Earlier in his career, Pete helped lead multiple successful ventures. As a minority owner at Fairmount Automation, he built an engineering services group around advanced control systems that ultimately led to the company’s sale to Colfax. He later founded PGFM Solutions, a niche engineering firm specializing in machinery control systems automation, cybersecurity, and digital engineering. As CEO of PGFM, Pete developed a cybersecurity and digital engineering framework that drove the firm’s growth and eventual acquisition by Gryphon Technologies in 2019. Following the acquisition, he helped implement PGFM’s innovation model across Gryphon’s divisions, advancing the company’s digital engineering and cybersecurity capabilities.
Over his 33-year career, Pete has been recognized as a thought leader, strategist, and tactician within the defense industry, particularly supporting the Navy and U.S. Coast Guard. His deep program-level relationships and ability to translate strategic priorities into executable technical solutions have made him a trusted advisor to both government and industry leaders.
